Human, BEING.

by | Oct 18, 2017 | Practical EQ |

The people and circumstances in my life enrich my human experience, but I do not need them to simply be.

I am neither conservative nor liberal.

I am neither Democrat, nor Republican, nor Independent.

I am neither white, nor black, nor Latino, nor Asian.

I am neither gay nor straight.

I am neither for, nor against.

I simply am.

I may have preferences, points of view, opinions and ideas, but they are not me.

My preferences, points of view, opinions and ideas contribute to, and enhance, my human experience; but they are not me.

What am I then?

I am a human, BEING.

And because I am a human, BEING, I enjoy my life simply through being.

I enjoy being a friend.

I enjoy being a partner and grandparent.

I enjoy being a speaker, a writer, a guide, and an example.

I enjoy being many things.

More than anything, I enjoy just being.

How about you?

Are you a human, BEING?

Or are you a human, struggling to be?

What’s stopping you from BEING?

Circumstances? People?

You?

Perhaps you can ask yourself these questions:

Can I be included if I’m excluding?

Can I be loved if I’m hating?

Can I be joyous if I’m angry?

Or, perhaps, you can ask just one question:

Do I need anyone or anything to simply BE?

My answer, for me, is no.

The people and circumstances in my life enrich my human experience, but I do not need them to simply be.

Because I am a human, BEING.

And that is all I need to know to live a joyous life.
